AI Passport — Manifesto

A compass for everyone contributing to this project.
For mission and north star, see VISION.md.

  1. AI identity belongs to the user. Not OpenAI. Not Anthropic. Not Cursor. The user.

  2. AI providers are guests, not owners. They read with permission. They never own the passport.

  3. Privacy is the default. No grant, no data. Revocation is immediate.

  4. Permissions are explicit. Every section shared must be deliberately approved.

  5. Open specification over vendor lock-in. Format is documented. Anyone can implement.

  6. Local-first whenever possible. The passport lives on the user’s device before the cloud.

  7. Interoperability over ecosystem isolation. One identity works across AI systems.

  8. Security before convenience. Encryption and scoped access are non-negotiable.

One identity. Every AI.
